Includes 50 plates of black and white photographs and a few paintings.

Focuses on history of peoples from Nevada City in Nevada, Forest Hill in Placer County, the Tuolumne Table Mountain region (west of Yosemite National Park), the vicinity of San Francisco, Pomo Reservation in Mendocino County, the Stockton district, the Tulare Reservation in Tulare County, and Southern California, including Santa Barbara County. By the Head Curator of the Department of Anthropology at the Smithsonian.

In very good condition. Some wear on the front and back covers. Tightly bound. Some yellowing, but pages are clean.

This book measures 9 1/4 H x 6 1/2 W x 1/2 D inches, and weighs 1 pound 3/4 ounces.
