Bakelite Addiphot Optical Exposure Meter by H.C. Lange with Leather Case, c.1930s


Black and red optical exposure meter from World War II era Germany. Bakelite material. Includes a light brown leather case.

This light meter, also called an extinction meter, measures the intensity of light for adjusting aperture and shutter speed in photography and film. The red interior slides within the black exterior to show the exposure level. 

From Germany in the early to mid 20th century.

Dimensions are 1 5/8 x 2 5/8 x 1/4 inches. It weighs 0.75 oz.
