Large carved wooden corbel or architectural knee brace. Most likely from India in the 1800s. Carved with geometric shapes around a cone, somewhat resembling a pendulous bud or flower, a common design in Indian architectural design around eaves.
Reddish brown wood is unpainted and sturdy. Shows signs of being exposed to some elements, perhaps as part of the exterior facade of a building.
Measures 25 x 7 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Weighs 7 lbs 1 oz.
