Gold-tone cufflinks with black line image of a sandpiper on faux mother of pearl.
Sandpipers are small but feisty little shorebirds found naturally among the oysters that generate mother of pearl. As the old French adage says, “What grows together, goes together.”
The mother of pearl in these cufflinks is actually a type of plastic called celluloid, something that unfortunately is a threat to sandpipers and other birds that thrive in our waters. Here is the perfect opportunity to protect our shores - with poise and class.
Mid 20th century. We acquired these in Amsterdam.
They measure 3/4 x 3/4 x 1 inches each and weigh ¼ oz. together.
