Mahogany cutlery or knife box with sloping hinged lid and serpentine shaped front. Footed with three shaped ogee feet. Lid has flamed mahogany veneer. Bottom of the interior is divided into six compartments.
A great addition to a formal dining room. Indicative of luxury, this beautiful, highly polished cutlery box is meant to contain knives, teaspoons, and other specialty silverware. We acquired this piece in Amsterdam.
In fair condition. There is a chip in the wood lip on the front of the lid. Some dark staining and crackling in the veneer on the top and a line down the front right top side of the lid. Lock plate is damaged. Original key and the fitted interior for holding the cutlery are not included.
