Small silver ladle with hooks on back and front of handle. Handle is engraved with pattern. X in circle silver mark (For date 1857) inside bowl. "JF J75" (maker's mark), a lion passant (Dutch mark for .833 purity), and Minerva's head (duty mark) are silver marks on back of handle.
Most likely used to serve cream. Spoon may have been given as a gift marking a birth, a marriage, or a death in Dutch custom. Loops were used to hang the spoon from a bowl or a hook
