Includes three other slides from other Junior Lecturers' Series, two of fish and one of mountains (perhaps of The Alps). Total of 11 slides.
Printed color glass slides, English and distributed in the Netherlands around the 1910s or 1920s. Numbers 17 to 24. The eight "Reptiles, Etc." slides include:
17. Spotted Salamander
18. Crested Newt
20. Giant Salamander
21. Long-snouted Crocodile
22. Egyptian Crocodile
24. Hawksbill Turtle.
Label on the box reads "Foto-Artikelen CAPI (Ivens & Co.) 13-17 v. Berchenstraat, Nijmegen."
Box and slides are in good condition. Some wear, crackling in the ink, and scratches, as can be expected from age and use. The mountains slide has a crack in the top corner. One of the fish slides and "23. Tortoise" are missing the second glass layer.
Each slide measures 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 1/8." Box and slides weigh 1 lb. 1 oz.
