Glass Lantern Slides Set of Children's Story about a Crow, c.1910s-1920s


Very energetic and imaginative set of 47 glass slides about a naughty crow wreaking havoc. Printed and hand colored magic lantern slides by D. Van Kreveld in Amsterdam, c.1910s to 1920s. Includes leather printed texture glass slide box.

Original images signed by "W. Busik." Tells the story of a naughty crow and his escapades. Most likely German or Eastern European in origin. See original German subtitles. Slides almost show animated motion. Slides switch to pink coloring for scenes in which a fight occurs. Warning: Has a surprising and sad ending.

Slide number 1 is missing. Otherwise in good shape. Some wear and scratches from age and use, but not much. Colors are bold and bright.

Each slide measures about 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 1/8". The box measures 3 1/2 H x 3 3/4 W x 9 1/2" D. Together the box and the 47 slides weigh 5 lbs. 4 1/2 oz.
