Oval cast metal trinket or jewelry box. Image of George Washington with wife Martha on the top and applied image on the handle of Mount Vernon building. Lined with red velvet. Made by Jennings Brothers of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who were producers of cast metal or spelter art pieces. This piece, marked "JB 2675" on the bottom, was a trinket box produced for tourists visiting the Mount Vernon estate in its early days as a museum. It measures 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 x 1 3/8 inches and weighs 7.5 oz.
