John Hay's Castilian Days. Published in Boston by James R. Osgood & Co. in 1871. First edition. Red textured fabric hardcover with beveled edges and gold embossing. In English. An engaging travel book on an American visiting Madrid and northern Spain during the Glorious Revolution. Not illustrated.

By the Secretary of State for US Presidents William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. This book was published before their terms, however.

Hay also worked on Abraham Lincoln's successful presidential campaign in 1860, was present when the President was on his deathbed, and co-authored an important Lincoln biography with John George Nicolay.
