Two narrow, painted shutters from India in the 18th or 19th centuries. Possibly from Jaipur, Rajasthan in India. Green painted shutters are intricately painted with a man and a woman on opposing shutters. Back is painted red. Shutters were for a rather narrow window with an arch. They lock with an iron latch.
These shutters could have been painted in celebration of a new marriage. It is unusual to see shutters in this shape on the market at this time.
In very good condition with some minor wear and chips from age and use.
