Snakeskin "biscuit tin" pattern Art Nouveau purse, c.1900s

Unusual tin purse, repurposed from a biscuit tin, has been printed with a black snakeskin pattern on the back and front and on the tin handle. Edged in painted gold, green, and purple Art Nouveau border. Rectangular box-like purse closes with a pressed metal clasp with Art Nouveau flourish. Inside is plain tin. Handle, clasp, and lid move freely on hinges. Some wear on the snakeskin pattern, which adds character. Dimensions are 6 x 9 1/2 x 2 inches. From Northern Europe in the early 20th century.
