Dark walnut Spanish occasional table or joint stool. Simple hand carved line pattern on front drawer. Wooden handle.
This rustic 17th-century kitchen stool was probably what many an abeula (grandmother) used to get down the best from her upper shelves to serve family and guests. ...And under which she kept her chancletas (sandals) to serve some justice.
In very good condition. A sturdy piece with a smooth pull-out drawer. Top is slightly concave in the middle and worn from use, but it does not affect drawer function - part of its 17th-century character.
This occasional table measures 32 1/2 x 20 x 25 3/4 inches and weighs about 40 lbs.
