Stained glass of Ghent city street with blind beggar, c.1530s-1600s

A small stained glass piece depicting the Belgian city of Ghent in the 16th century. A fascinating look at life and religion during this tumultuous time period. The blue church tower in the background is most likely Saint Bavo's Cathedral. The beggar holds a sign "Blind," a dog begs from him, a woman prays on the bridge, and the religious cleric in black admonishes another woman instead of helping the poor and hopeless behind him. A rousing speech is being given in the background. Dimensions are 18 1/2 x 17 inches. Flemish, mid to late 16th century.
