Boulogne-sur-Mer, a panorama taken from the Dungeon. Boulogne-sur-Mer, sitting on the English Channel is an important port town and constantly at war, given the French desire to expel the English and the English desire to remain on the Continent. It was in Calais that Anne Boleyn made her dramatic entrance in a masque to try to provide some legitimacy to her illegitimate marriage. The Dungeon - specifically the Solidor Tower - depicted here is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
