The locks are no longer on the Pont des Arts (see Stereoscope Card - Pont des Arts - et L'Institut Paris et ses Environs ) but they can be found near here by the statue of Henri IV -le vert galant- who ordered this park made to be out of the prying eyes of his court so that he could cavort with whomever he pleased. The park, draped with willows, retains the advantage of being private and it is a known cruising spot today. The viewing platform above this statue has locks of many lovers who appreciate the history of the park.
