The mountains of Spion Kop, in Natal (the Boer region in contention in the Second Boer War) was the perfect place from which the Boers could launch their guerrilla attacks. This was a very heavy British loss in January, 1900.
Small white mark on right side photograph ,but otherwise in good condition.
