The Warwick Regiment marching on Main Road, Simons Town. The Boer War, in this case the second one, was the war for control over South Africa between the colonizers: the former Dutch settlers and the English. The Boers engaged in guerilla warfare and the English rounded up civilian farmers into disease-ridden concentration camps. Ultimately, the Boers' lands were absorbed into the British Empire in 1902.
